122 Ilocos Sur Cops Undergo Random Drug Testing

CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO, SAN FERNANDO CITY, LA UNION – One hundred twenty two police officers assigned in Ilocos Sur Police Provincial Office undergone random drug test on December 8, 2020 at Camp President Elpidio R Quirino, Bulag, Bantay, Ilocos Sur.
Based on the report reaching the headquarters, 47 Police Commissioned Officers, 74 Non Commissioned Officers and one Non-Uniformed Personnel assigned in Ilocos Sur voluntarily submitted themselves in the conduct of drug test after the Ceremonial Turn-over of Newly Procured Patrol Vehicles.
The said random drug testing is in line with the directive of the Chief, PNP, Police General Debold M Sinas on the optimized utilization of PNP resources and commitment in cleaning the rank and file from ‘narco cops’.
“Police Regional Office 1 will continuously intensify the conduct of random drug testing in all PNP units regionwide to ensure that the organization is away from the drug menace. It is also more comprehensive approach in weeding out scalawags and misfits in the organization”, said PBGen Rodolfo Santos Azurin, Jr, PRO1 Regional Director.
It can be recalled that random drug test were simultaneously conducted to personnel assigned at the Regional Headquarters, Regional Drug Enforcement Unit, Pangasinan Police Provincial Office and National Support Units. At present, a total of 783 personnel have already undergone random drugs test regionwide and all were tested negative.
