16,126 jobs offered on Charter Day fair

BAGUIO CITY – Some sixteen thousand one hundred twenty six overseas and local jobs will be offered by thirty local firms and fifteen overseas employment agencies during the Baguio Charter Day jobs fair which will be held at the Baguio city High School gymnasium on Saturday, September 29, 2018.
Mayor Mauricio G. Domogan said that the offered jobs are composed of 12,698 overseas and 3,428 local jobs which could be up for grab by those intending to seek employment.
The conduct of the annual Charter Day jobs fair is part of the month-long activities lined up by the local government in celebration of the city’s charter anniversary.
The participating local companies include Laus group of companies, Convergys, Tree Top Adventure, John Hay Management Committee, Tiong San, The Manor at Camp Joh Hay, City Light Hotel, SM Supermarket, Sunshine Supermart and Hotel Veniz, Mcdonald’s Baguio, Sitel, Sutherland, Notre Dame de Chartres Hospital, Baguio Country Club, Puregold, RAJ Technologies Inc., Pines International Academy, Mainstream Business Corp., HEDCOR, FC Laranang, IHG-International Hotel Groups, Police Regional Office-Cordillera, Toyota, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, IQOR, MOOG Controls Corp., Suzuki Auto Baguio, City Human Resource Management office, Victory Liner Corp. and Metrobank.
On the other hand, the participating overseas employment agencies are Placewell International Services Corporation, God’s Will International Placement Inc., Androme Recruitment and Management Services Inc., EMR Construction and Manpower Services Inc., Career Planners Specialists International Inc., Starborne International Promotions and Manpower corp., Perpetual Help Placement Services International Inc., ASC Global Recruitment, Prudential Employment Agency Inc., YHMD International Manpower Services Inc., FAASI International corporation and Magsaysay Maritime Corporation.
Domogan urged interested applicants to be in the jobs fair site as early as possible for them to be able to submit their pertinent documents to the companies where they intend to apply.
He reminded them to be prim and proper when attending the jobs fair and for them to make themselves ready for possible interviews by their prospective employer considering that there is always a possibility for them to be hired on the spot once they will be able to pass the qualifications of their possible employers.
The annual Charter Day jobs fair is being conducted by the local government in cooperation with the Department of Labor and Employment (DTI), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) among other concerned offices of the city.
He encouraged fresh graduates and those who are unemployed or under employed to try their luck in applying for jobs during the jobs fair so that they will be able to land in gainful employment and provide their families with sustainable sources of livelihood.
Aside from the Charter Day jobs fair, the local government is also a major sponsor of the Labor Day jobs fair every May 1 and the Kalayaan jobs fair every June 12. BAGUIO PIO / ABN
