4 drug personalities collared in cordillera

PROCOR’s intensive efforts against illegal drugs in the region resulted in the arrest of four (4) drug personalities in separate operations conducted in Kalinga and Baguio City on October 7, 2021.
Based on reports submitted to PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE, Regional Director, the suspects were identified as Leo Bautista Ateneo, 33; Ghary Jhun Wakit Garcia aka “Garay”, 44; Rosendyl Batac Lacsa, 25; and Denio Sangdaan Gaayon, 35.
In Bokawkan Road, Baguio City, Ateneo was arrested by personnel of BCPO and RIU-14 after he sold one plastic sachet containing suspected shabu weighing more or less one (1) gram with a market value of Php 6,500.00 to an operative acting as poseur buyer.
Moreover, in the course of his arrest, confiscated from his possession is another (1) plastic sachet of suspected shabu with estimated weight of one (1) gram with Standard Drug Price (SDP) amounting to PHP 6800.00.
In Gibraltar, Baguio City, a buy-bust operation conducted by joint operatives of RID/RSOG PROCOR and BCPO resulted in the arrest of Garcia after he sold one (1) sachet of suspected shabu with a total estimated weight of 1 gram having a SDP amounting to Php 6,800.00.
Meanwhile, in Tabuk City, Kalinga, a call from a concern citizen that suspects, Lacsa and Gaayon, are allegedly selling and transporting dangerous drugs at Purok 6, Bulanao Centro, Tabuk City, Kalinga prompted the personnel of Tabuk CPS, barangay officials and POSO to respond at the said place and arrested the suspects.
Recovered from the suspects was one (1) piece of transparent sachet containing suspected shabu weighting MOL .5 grams with SDP amounting to Php 3,400.00. The pieces of evidence were marked and inventoried onsite in the presence of the suspects and witnessed by the respective DOJ representatives, media representatives and elected Barangay officials.
The suspects were brought to their respective operating units while a case for violation of RA 9165 or The Comprehensive Drug Act of 2002 is being prepared for filling against them.
