5 persons from high-risk area were arrested after entering Ilocos Sur

SANTA, Ilocos Sur –  Warning to those who want to enter this province without coordination and proper documentations as you may face the risk of being arrested for violation of health protocols, this is what the local government’s policies here when five persons coming from Metro Manila and nearby province, considered as ‘high-risk’ area were arrested before dawn (April 6, 2021) in Brgy. Labut Norte, Santa, Ilocos Sur.
This development was according to police report, the suspects identified as Dwight R. Concepcion, 42, resident of Brgy. Balangkas, Valenzuela; Ernesto M. Valdez, Jr., 36, from Kaligayan, Novaliches, Quezon City; Cire Enrian E. Pagapulangan, 27, resident of Pikay, Malolos, Bulacan; Remon S. Espinosa, 22; and Johnmar D. Amoroso, 28, both residence of Brgy. Uggong, Valenzuela, all were nabbed when they entered this town without necessary health protocol documents.
 Santa Police told that they received a report from Santa Regional Health Unit personnel informing that five individuals onboard on Mitsubishi L300 (PN: NGA 2644) who came from high-risk area of Covid-19 entered at the said barangay without proper coordination.
 This has prompted the Santa police to proceed at the said place where they saw the five suspects.
When the police asked for their documents for verification they found out that their border pass indicated that their destination should be Province of Abra, but they dropped and stopped at Brgy. Labut, Santa, Ilocos Sur.
This prompted police personnel to arrest the five suspects for violation of quarantine protocol during times of pandemic.
Arrested suspects were properly turned over to Tagudin PNP for proper disposition and investigation.
Earlier, Governor Ryan Singson issued a directive banning temporarily the entry here of outsiders without proper documents and health protocols following the series of cases by infected with the said virus.
