To safeguard the continuing peace and security in the Cordillera, a total of 50 police officers from the different units of the Police Regional Office Cordillera (PRO COR) successfully completed the Police Explosive Reconnaissance Course (PERC) in a closing ceremony held at Bakakeng Central, MultiPurpose Basketball Court, Ben Palipis Highway, Baguio City on June 8.
The 15-day training involves military explosive ordnance, detection, identification, explosive-related incident investigation and target analysis, techniques, searching methods, and the do’s and don’ts in dealing with a bomb threat incident to equip police officers with knowledge and competency.
The certificate of completion was presented to graduates by Col. Francisco Bulwayan, Jr., city director of Baguio City Police Office, as keynote speaker and assisted by Chief Regional Service Training Unit- Cordillera, Col.Leon Talleo; Officer-InCharge of the Regional Learning and Doctrine Development Division, Col. Ferdinand Oydoc and Officer In-Charge of Regional Explosive Canine Unit- Cordillera, Lt.Col.Perlita Tacio.
Bulwayan reiterated In his message that the knowledge and skills that the participants learned during their training will serve its purpose. “The knowledge that we possess is one of our most
important assets, so we cannot afford to be complacent. Let us never stop ourselves from learning and upgrading, not only for our personal consumption but for the betterment of the community we are serving and protecting,” he added.
