Abra Barangay Kagawad shot dead while sleeping

BAGUIO CITY – A village official was shot dead by an unidentified assassin while sleeping inside his residence in Barangay Bolbolo, Pilar, Abra.

The victim was identified by the police as Marlon Tanurio, 56 and current Barangay Kagawad of Barangay Bulbulo, Pilar.

The Abra police said it received information about the incident at around 5 AM on April 2, 2022, prompting personnel of the Police Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) to immediately head to the house of the victim.

Upon arriving at the kagawad’s house, the cops saw the victim lifeless on his bed with blood oozing from his body.

The live-in partner of the victim accordingly told the police that she heard a gunshot at around past midnight on April 2, 2022, prompting her to go and wake up Tanurio.  To his surprise, the head of her partner was oozing with blood.

No motives have yet been established by the police.
