All Region 1 provinces feted good governance awards except Ilocos Norte

BAGUIO CITY – All provinces in Region 1 except Ilocos Norte were feted with the much-coveted “Seal of Good Local Governance” in 2018. 
Ilocos Sur, La Union and Pangasinan except Ilocos Norte were adjudged by the interior department practicing excellence in the field of financial administration, disaster preparedness, social protection, peace and order, business friendliness and competitiveness, environmental management, tourism, culture and the arts.
Ilocos Sur Governor Ryan Singson whose province bagged the grand slam SGLG said their “feat is a testament of their genuine service to the people.”
Ilocos Sur’s two cities (Vigan and Candon) and nine of its towns (Caoayan,  Salcedo, San Esteban, San Ildefonso, San Vicente, Santa, Sta. Catalina, Sto. Domingo and Tagudin) also were accorded the town category of SGLG.
La Union’s San Fernando City and Pangasinan’s Alaminos City were also chosen to receive good governance awards. The towns of Agoo, Aringay, Balaoan, Caba, Rosario, San Gabriel and Santol in La Union; and Agno, Aguilar, Alcala, Anda, Balungao, Bayambang, Binalonan, Bugallon, Burgos, Calasiao, Infanta, Lingayen, Malasiqui, Mangaldan, Mangatarem, Natividad, San Manuel, San Nicolas, Sta Maria, Tayug, Umigan, Urbiztondo, and Villasis in Pangasinan were also chosen to receive the same seal of good governance.
Five Ilocos Norte towns though will be feted with their seals of good governance: Bacarra; Currimao; Paoay; Piddig and San Nicolas.
Ilocos Norte received its SGLG in 2014 and 2016.
