5 Drug personalities busted in Baguio City; 285K marijuana destroyed

Five drug personalities will now be facing charges for Violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002 after they were arrested in a separate buy-bust operation conducted in Baguio City on December 21, 2022. Based on the reports submitted to PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN MAFELINO A BAZAR, the arrested suspects were identified as Alwin Camacho, 39; Stephen Galande, 21; Ronald Dean Magallanes, 23; Justine Kirby Cousins, 19; and a 15-year-old male minor.

In Barangay Camp 7, suspect Camacho was arrested by the joint operatives of BCPO Kennon Road Police Station (PS8) and BCPO Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) after he sold one (1) sachet of suspected “shabu” weighing more or less 0.6 grams with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 4,080.00 In Brgy. Loakan Proper, suspects Galande, Magallanes, Cousins, and a 15-year-old male minor were arrested by the joint operatives of BCPO Loakan Police Station (PS4) and BCPO DEU after they sold one (1) plastic sachet of suspected dried marijuana leaves weighing more or less 3.0 grams with an SDP of Php 360.00.

The inventories of the pieces of evidence recovered were conducted on-site in the presence of the arrested suspects and witnessed by representatives from the Department of Justice (DOJ), media, and elected barangay officials. The suspects and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the custody of their respective operating units for documentation and proper disposition. Meanwhile, in Benguet, the operatives of the Kibungan Municipal Police Station (MPS) conducted a marijuana
eradication operation in Sitio Bito, Brgy. Tacadang, Kibungan that resulted in the discovery of 1, 425 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants (FGMP) with an SDP of Php 285,000.00. All marijuana plants were uprooted and burned on-site while an investigation is ongoing to identify the possible
cultivators.
