ASEAN for resilient and innovative 2018

Association of South-East Asian Nations or ASEAN was establish in Bangkok, Thailand in 1967 with the principal aim of strengthening economic and cultural development and maintaining peace in the region. The original five members of the ASEAN were Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. Brunei, Darussalan joined in January 1984 while Vietnam in July 1995, then Lao PDR and Myanmar in July 1997 and last was Cambodia on April 1999.

The theme of this year’s 51st ASEAN is “Resilient and Innovative” which is hosted by Singapore. This calls for adaptable and forward outlook to harness opportunities and manage challenges from disruptive digital technologies to equip citizens with skills to boost their capabilities.

Pursuing a common goal in promoting peace, stability and security, the logo’s pink and lavender colours are mix of red, blue and white. Red symbolises strength and equality. Blue represent trust and stability, while white is a symbol of peace. And lastly, the lavender is commonly associated with the meaning of dignity, passion and vitality representing a dynamic, innovative and vibrant ASEAN community. Combining these colours demonstrates ASEAN unity and innovativeness.

As ASEAN is a community of opportunities for our fellow Filipino especially to the growth of our youth, the Department of Education now has a bigger goal to motivate them to become globally competitive in their chosen field of learning. Exchange students on various countries and even our partnership with our Sister Cities give us a bigger scope of opportunities abroad not only thru landing a job but also in exchanging good economic enterprise by our various products and projects.

People usually say “We will never know, if we will never try.” There’s no harm on trying, the bad thing is when we have opportunities but we never tried. That’s when the time comes with the word “What if?” and “Kung sana lang” as the saying goes “Nasa huli ang pagsisisi”

But no matter what, if it is not for you, then it is not God’s wil. In the Bible (KJV) Matt 6:34 “Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” This is your truly Tita Ara Katter of 98.7 ZRadio FM Sunday Program 10AM to 1PM of iKit ng Bayan that always reminds you “Ti panagkaykaysa, mangiwanwan iti naranyag nga pagsayaatan.”
