Baguio City Logs In Highest COVID19 Cases During Holy Week

BAGUIO CITY (April 3, 2021) – Baguio City recorded the highest number of individuals infected by the Corona Virus Disease (Covid 19) in the city during the Holy week.

As of 6:00 PM of Friday, April 2, the health department listed 227 new cases of infections. According to the City Health Services Office (HSO), the number was from the tests conducted from March 29 to April 2, 2021. The figure is the highest since March 2020.

As of 6:00 PM of April 2, 2021 also, the Baguio City Health Services Office recorded one Covid-related death bringing the total of deaths to 130.

The active cases in the city is still 878. There are a total of 7,816 cases where 6,808 individuals recovered from the disease.

The Department of Health (DOH) Cordillera recorded more than 535 new cases in the whole Cordillera Region as of 9:30 PM of April 2, 2021 bringing the total cases to 20,902. The total recoveries are 17, 984 individuals while there are 293 Covid-related deaths in the region.

While the Saint Louis University (SLU) Hospital of the Sacred Heart here announced that it cannot admit Covid 19 patients in their facility anymore as of Friday. The management stated that the hospital’s Covid isolation unit is now fully occupied and there are still Covid patients and suspects at the emergency room and the triage 2 waiting to be accommodated at the hospital facility.
