Operatives of the Baguio City Police Office arrested an online paputok seller in an entrapment operations after unidentified cop posed as buyer in a negotiation via the face book account of the suspect. This was reported by P/
Col. Ruel Tagel, city director of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) said that the suspect only identified as “Balong”
agreed to sell firecrackers to the unidentified policemen at around 4: 55 p.m. on December 25, 2024 at Upper Abanao Street AZCKO barangay. Tagel said that the suspect delivered foun kinds of illegal firecrackers which fall under the banned pyrotechnic devices under a law.
Confiscated from the suspect were 260 pieces of kwitis worth P5,200, three boxes of Five Star worth P1,050 one piece of of sawa with 500 rounds worth P1,500 and 100 pieces of bawang worth P2,000.00 with a total amount of
P9,750.00 Earlier a stern warning issued by the Baguio City Police Office to stop selling destructive “paputok” that
causes death and serious injuries to individuals. Earlier at 11:50 p.m. on December 24, the BCPO operatives acted on a report of firecracker explosion at Sarok, Camp 7 barangay. The Policemen accosted two minors who possessed two pieces of “boga” and 10 pieces of skyrockets (kwitis). The two minors were warned and were turned over to their parents, who were also briefed on the ban on firecrackers.
