“Becoming A Parent”

Parental involvement plays a vital role in our child’s education. We, parents, should be responsible in leading our children in a path where they can fulfill their dreams and ambitions.
In order to do this, we should support them in their school programs and activities such as taking time to attend PTA meetings for us to ensure that we take responsibility on the welfare of our children.
Based on DepEd Order 54, s.2009, titled “Revised Guidelines Governing Parents-Teachers Associations (PTAs) at the School Level, states that every elementary and secondary school shall
organize a Parent-Teachers Association (PTA) for the purpose of providing a forum for the discussion of issues and solutions related to the total school program and to ensure the full cooperation of parents in the efficient implementation of such program.
Membership in PTA is limited to parents, or in their absence the guardian, of duly enrolled students, and teachers in a given school.
As parents, we should take time to attend PTA meetings and PTA
general assemblies wherein it is a venue for presentation and discussion of the PTA’s programs, projects, financial statements, reports and other matters.
Our involvement in our child’s school activities and programs is our way of helping them build their talents, hobbies and interests that may create a big impact in their future lives.
As a result, our children can showcase what they have with pride and confidence. In addition to this, our full support and guidance in doing their assignments and school projects is also an important
factor in our child’s education.
Being a parent is not easy. It is very challenging. Parents are P-protective, A-affectionate, R-rational and reliable, Everything, N-never ending love and T-tireless.
In Filipino, “magulang” means MAmadiskarte at masigasig sa
pangangalaga sa pamilya, GUguro ng tahanan, and LANGlangit
ang saya kapay tagumpay ng anak ay natamasa.
We are our children’s friend where they have a shoulder to cry on; their advisers and teachers when things got complicated and
confusing; their provider of good deeds and values when times get tough.
Our children are the hope of our nation, that is why we should guide them wholeheartedly, and teach them good deeds to become a
responsible citizen in the society.
Life is not perfect, ups and downs are inevitable, and that is why we, parents, are here to pull our children up when they feel down.
