P3.320-Billion allocation for 2024
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet
The Benguet First Engineering District I Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH Cordillera) initially completed 13 out of the 68 total programmed projects for Fiscal Year (FY) 2024. In 2023, the agency completed 43 out of the 46 programmed projects. It received a total allocation of P1.02.041 billion. One of the agency’s major
projects for this year is the Halsema Highway and opening of barangay roads in different towns under their jurisdiction.
Another highlighted project is the Benguet Convention Center that was started by Benguet Congressman Eric Yap with an initial fund of P150 Million, alongside with the project of the Regional office which is the Aquatic Center. “So
we have an intial fund of P150 Million, and naka propose kami ng additional P150 Million for next year.” Engr. Cayme further said. Among the projects completed are- Preventive Maintenance: Asphalt Overlay Benguet- Nueva Vizcaya; Camp 6 Bridge along Kennon Road.

Meanwhile, Benguet 1st District Engineer Isagani Cayme, said his agency’s maintenance budget for this year has increased, ensuring road safety to motorists along high risk areas in Kennon Road, Benguet- Vizcaya road and Bokod- Kabayan Road
especially this rainy season.
