LA TRINIDAD,Benguet – Another marijuana plantation were discovered, uprooted and burned on site worth P1.5 million by joint personnel of Benguet Provincial Police Office and PDEA in a two-day operation in the town of Bakun and Kibungan.
The operatives were able to discovered marijuana plantation and uprooted more or less 2,400 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants cultivated in a public lot with an estimated land area of 600
square meters. Said marijuana plants has an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of P480,000.00 at Sitio Gilgil, Brgy Kayapa, Bakun,Benguet on December 7.
In Sitio Alingaw and Sitio Naboy-o, Brgy Poblacion in Kibungan, more or less 4,250 pieces fully grown marijuana plants were discovered cultivated in a public lot with an estimated land area of 850 square meters. Said marijuana plants has an estimated SDP of P850,000.00.
In addition, on December 8, another marijuana eradication operation was conducted in Sitio Bao-edan, Brgy Kayapa in Bakun which led to the discovery of more or less 1,200 pieces fully grown marijuana plant cultivated in a public lot with an estimated land area of 200 square meters.
Said marijuana plants has an estimated SDP of P240,000.00. For the two-day operation, the BPPO was able to destroy a total of P1,570,000.00 worth of marijuana plants. With these recent
destruction of marijuana plants, the Police Regional Office- Cordillera has now recorded a total of four marijuana eradication operations wherein a total of 7,892 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants and 597 pieces of marijuana seedlings with a total SDP of P1,602,280.00 were destroyed from December 1, 2020 to present.
