LA TRINIDAD, Benguet
Better health services are expected to be provided in the province of Benguet with the opening of a new Provincial Health Office in a more accessible location. Gov. Melchor Diclas and Board Member Marie Rose Fongwan-Kepes with PHO officials led by DrMeliarazon Dulay led the turnover and inauguration ceremony of the new Benguet Provincial Health Services Multipurpose Building recently. The new building facility is located at the back of the Benguet General Hospital along Km. 5 in the capital town in La Trinidad.
Diclas congratulated the PHO for a new facility that signifies the importance of strengthening the province’s healthcare infrastructure, especially in light of the growing demand for a responsive and efficient healthcare system. “The new building is a project of the provincial
government to provide a dedicated facility to the health workers of the province with the vision of improving the health services to be provided to the people of Benguet,” Diclas said.
He stressed that the inauguration of the new building facility marks a significant step in the province’s efforts to enhance its healthcare infrastructure and further improve the efficient delivery of more health services in the province. “With the emerging diseases, and the pandemic that we experienced, the new facility would be strengthening our preparations and responses to these diseases,” he added. Dulay said that the new PHO has a very conducive space for the increasing number of health workers serving Benguet.
The new facility will also serve as a training center for the health workers in the district hospitals, rural health units and even the barangays especially with the healthcare needs of their communities. “We will soon be opening our facility as a training center for all our partners and stakeholders to further improve the health services being provided to the people of Benguet,” Dulay said.
