Bernos gift giving project benefits elderlies from Tayum, Manabo

Abra governor Ma. Jocelyn Bernos remains the gift giver for elderlies in the province as her Sagut ni Gov. Joy continues this week with the towns of Tayum and Manabo as targets. Elderlies from Tayum last Tuesday received their gift pack from the governor, a promise she made during the 104th Foundation Day of the province last March 10.
On Wednesday, senior citizens from the town of Manabo received their gift pack. Bernos has made the elderlies her focus on the province’s 104th foundation day and swore that all elderlies in the province’s 27 municipalities will get a gift pack from her.
“Espesial nga aldaw ti naited kadagiti senior citizen ditoy probinsia ita nga aldaw gapu ta isuda ti nagbalin a sentro iti selebrasion iti maika- 104 nga anibersario iti Foundation Day iti Abra (It is a
special day for the senior citizens of this province as they were made the center of celebration),” said an announcement on the Abra Province Facebook page during the province’s foundation day.
During the gift giving, Bernos encouraged the elderlies to take the Covid-19 vaccine as more of it will be arriving soon. She also reiterated her call to further follow the minimum health protocol to  avoid contracting the virus.
The Abra Province Facebook page wrote: “Agtultuloy ti pannakaidanun dagiti Sagut ni Gov. Joy para kada lolo ken lola (The Gov. Joy I have your back grandfather and grandmother [project]
continues).”
The program was temporarily stopped when the governor was infected with the Covid-19 last March 13 and was practically in the hospital and home isolation for the whole month of March.
In April, the governor was busy with the implementation of the modified enhanced community quarantine to stop spread of the virus which saw a surge in cases in Abra. Abra was under MECQ until May 14 and shifted to GCQ on Friday.
