Islay Erica Bomogao is now the world’s top female -45 kilogram fighter after her gold medal in last year’s world championship and the bronze medal finish in this year’s edition. Former world champion Islay Erica Bomogao is officially the number one female-45 kilogram category Muay Thai fighter. In its official ranking released this week, the International Federation of Muay Thai Associations or IFMA, the world’s governing body of Muay Thai, has in its official ranking the petite daughter of councilor Benny Bomogao on top of her category. Bomogao has earned 1,920 points total due to her top podium finish in in 2023 World Championship and the bronze medal in this year’ edition.
Bomogao last Friday, August 10, was fighting in the Domination 10 in Perth, Western Australia with two other Muay
Thai National team members 2023 Southeast Asian Games silver medal winner Ariel Lee Lampacan and former SEAG medal winner and now Team Bagsik coach Zaidi Laruan. Bomogao was facing Sarah Kwa of Champions Gym, while in the main event; it was Laruan against Kao Suk Muay Thai’s Prabusek.
