BOYCOTT CPP-NPA-NDF RADICALIZATION ACTIVITIES FOR BAGUIO STUDENTS DAY

As we entered September, we saw various posts on social media by groups that are obviously connected with the CPP-NPANDF advertising online activities in celebration of the Baguio Students’ Day. These include the forum on September 10 at the Baguio City Engineering Office Building and several and several webinars supposed to champion students’ welfare and empowerment.

These engagements appear to address valid issues of returning students such as campaign for safe resumption of face to face classes and demand for academic ease policies. But make no mistake because injected in these series of online activities is a “Basic Mass Integration” or BMI scheduled on September 24. This BMI is part of the initial stage of recruitment conducted by the CPP-NPA-NDF through its front organizations.

It is part of the indoctrination process among the youth who are gradually brainwashed to believe that the
government’s efforts to deliver quality education and to ensure safety of students are futile or that the government is neglectful of students’ needs amid the still prevailing COVID-19 pandemic. In the past years, there had been effort to expose the true intention of these activities of youth organizations under the
CPP-NPA-NDF – that these organizations are agents of recruitment by this terrorist organization.

Hence, we should know by now that their activities are only venues for eventual recruitment to the CPP-NPA-NDF and the Baguio Students’ Day is just one these venues to carry out such task. So, let me remind the Baguio youth of the rationale of celebrating the Baguio Students’ Day. On 29 August 2013, the Baguio City Council issued Ordinance No. 42 series of 2013 establishing and declaring every second Sunday of
September of every year as Baguio Students’ Day.

The ordinance aims to support, promote and protect the general welfare of youth and students in Baguio City. Baguio Students’ Day is clearly for the protection of the youth; thus, it should serve as a reminder for locals in Baguio City to safeguard the students from deceitful activities of youth groups under the terrorist CPP-NPANDF. Let us not allow this group to take advantage of the Baguio Students’ Day celebration to
further organize and radicalize the youth and students in the City.
