CASH INCENTIVES OF GRANDPARENTS IN LA UNION DISTRIBUTED

SAN FERNANDO, La Union

In the lead of Gov. Rafy, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) and the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), have already started the distribution of cash incentives
to fifty nonagenarians from San Fernando City and Aringay, La Union. The said distribution of
cash incentives to nonagenarian senior citizens is in accordance with Provincial Ordinance No. 381-2022 or Octogenarian, Nonagenarian and Centenarian Benefit Ordinance of the Province of La Union.

According to the said ordinance author of Cong. Francis Paul P. Ortega V, provincial centenarians (100 years old); P10,000.00 for 95-99 years old; and P5,000 for provincial centenarians 90-94
years old, 80-89 years old, and 80-84 years old. This became the basis for PGLU to receive
provincial 94-99 years old a total of P25,000. Aside from Gov. Rafy distributing benefits to grandparents of La Union, the governor also shared stories and left personal messages for
them.

Meanwhile, PGLUPSWDO continues to distribute cash assistance to octogenarians, nonagenarians and centenarians in such towns. Schedule also set in other Local Government Units upon completion of documents submitted by their beneficiaries.
