BAGUIO CITY

The city council passed resolution no. 460, series of 2024, confirming the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) entered into by the city government with Phil-Tower Consortium Inc. for the establishment of passive telecommunication tower infrastructure to help increase connectivity and improve the quality of telecommunication in the Summer Capital. The MOU also includes the creation of a digital infrastructure roadmap plan strategically aligned with the requirements of the city, among others.

The August body through resolution no. 283, series of 2024, granted authority to Mayor Benjamin Magalong representing the city government to enter into an MOU with Phil-Tower to improve the quality of telecommunications in the city. In his letter dated July 5, 2024, the Mayor requested confirmation of said MOU for the above-mentioned purpose which the city council’s committee on laws, human rights and justice, in its second indorsement dated July 15, this year, recommended that it be confirmed.

The approved measure also reiterates the request for Phil-Tower to submit to the local legislature the location of the telecommunication towers to be constructed as requested in resolution no. 283, series of 2024.
