COMPLETED INFRA PROJECTS SPUR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

LA TRININDAD, Benguet

Some 48 infrastructure projects worth more than P2-billion for Calendar Year (CY) 2024 were completed as of January 31, 2025 ,according to the Benguet First Engineering District I Department of Public Works and Highways
(DPWH- Cordillera). District Engineer Isagani Cayme of the Benguet First Eng’g District said completed projects include Convergence – Tourism Road Infrastructure Program (TRIP) – P39,704,845.421-M; Roads Leveraging Linkages for Industry /Trade Infrastructure Program (ROLL-IT)- P97,907,513.13- M; Flood Control P225,031,
047.95-M; and Regular Infrastructure – P1,067,588,7885.14-B.

In 2024, the agency received an allocation amounting to P2,942,186 billion. Engr. Loida Pascua, Construction Section head identified the completed tourism roads (TRIP) project: Bila Access road leading to Ablang Hot Springs and Poblacion-Karao-Ekip Access Road leading to Mount Purgatory, both in (Bokod); Kalinga Bridge-Lower Bashoy-Upper Badadak Road leading to Mt.Pulag (Kabayan); and Timbak Caves Road leading to Timbak Caves and Mummy of Apo Anno (Atok/Kabayan). On Industry and Trade Infra projects finished are: Baguio-Bontoc Road Jct. to
Abatan-Adaoy, Kabayan Road in support of vegetable, processed tea and coffee industry (Kabayan);Baguio-Bontoc Road Jct. to Guiwen-Nawal-Tickey-Daclan Road in support of coffee, and processed food meat industries (Bokod).

Moreover, Beckes-Bulala Road in support to high value crops, fruit tree and heirloom rice, among others (Sablan);
Camp 3 Torre-Anatamo0k-Mangga-Belis-Piminggan-Ansagan Proper Road in support of cacao/coffee industry (Tuba); and Piminggan – Saguitan – Lubas_dungon Road in support of coffee, cacao gold, livestock, among others,
also in Tuba. For Flood Control mitigation projects – along Bauang River,Main Stream (Balili River) and Along
Bauang River,Bolo Creek, both in La Trinidad;Along Agno River,Section 11 (Lower Ambalanga)- Itogon; along
Agno River Main Stream (Banao Section) -Bokod.

While ongoing projects include—farm-to-market road (concreting of Samoyao to Hartwell, Brgy. Ampucao,
Itogon; Three School bldgs. -Basic Education Facilities Funds (BEFF) –Ambangeg Nat’l High School (Bokod);Liang Primary School, Brgy. Loacan (Itogon);and Indaoac Elem. School, Brgy. Tabaan Sur (Tuba). Other ongoing projects include one each in Tuba and Bokod; and a number of regular infra projects.
