‘Dalawang Rebel Fronts sa Hilagang Pilipinas Lubos ng Durog’

LUNGSOD NG BAGUIO – Sinabi ng tropa ng gobyerno na dalawang rebel fronts sa Hilagang Pilipinas nag lubos ng nadurog. Pormal na idineklara ng mga opisyal ng Hukbong Sandatahan at PNP noong Martes ang katapusan ng Kilusang Gerilya Southern Ilocos Sur (KLG SIS) na dating nag-ooperate sa mga hangganan ng Ilocos Sur, Mountain Province at Abra gayundin ang KLG-Quirino-
Nueva Vizcaya na dating nagooperate sa hangganan ng dalawang probinsiya.
Ipinaliwanag ni Major General Ferdinand Daway, Director for Integrated Police Operations sa Northern Luzon ng PNP na “the parameters of dismantling NPA fronts are stipulated in the AFP and PNP’s Joint Letter Directive Number 3 series of 2020 which include clearing of all affected barangays, neutralization of the terrorist group’s politico military structure and reduction of enemy strength to a squad level, among others.”
Bago ang mga deklarasyon na ito ay nagresulta ang counterinsurgency operations ng pinagsamang AFP at PNP sa mga serye ng “decisive engagements”, na ayon sa militar ay nagtulak sa mga komunistang rebelde sa di mababagong pagkaguho.
Pinakahuli dito ay ang neutralisasyon ng isang Regional White Area Secretary at dalawang NPA finance officer sa loob lamang ng limang araw na minarkahan ang pagsisimula ng Disyembre, dagdag ni Daway.
Sinabi naman ni Northern Luzon Command chirf Lt. Gen. Arnulfo Marcelo Burgos Jr. na “these are on top of the 313 former rebels who surrendered 96 firearms this year after deciding to turn their backs from armed conflict, return to mainstream society and avail benefits under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program or E-CLIP”.
Ayon sa militar ang tagumpay laban sa kilusang lomunista sa Northern at Central Luzon ay dahil sa epektibo at mahusay na sama-samang pagtratrabaho sa kanilang kasamang police, local government units at ang suporta ng publiko.
Sinabi ni Lt. Gen. Burgos na “this unprecedented accomplishment in the north will serve as our inspiration to further press the fight, exploit our gains and finally win the much coveted peace, prosperity and development which every Filipino truly deserves.” Nauna nang idineklara ng Nolcom na nasa tamang landas sila upang malipol ang ilang natitirang NPA sa hilagang Pilipinas bago ang pagtatapos ng termino ni Pangulong Duterte.
