DTI provides livelihood kits to 56 Abrenian MSMEs under LSP

BANGUED, Abra, Sept. 26 (PIA) – Another batch of Abrenian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) here were provided with livelihood kits under the Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay – Livelihood Seeding Program (NSB-LSP) of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
DTI-Abra Provincial Director Samuel Gallardo led the distribution of Php 8,000 worth of livelihood package for each beneficiary according to their existing business venture. There are total of 56 beneficiaries in two batches under the program from the municipalities of Lagayan, Danglas, La Paz, San Isidro, Villaviciosa, and Pidigan.
Gallardo explained that the program is an initiative of the government that enables hardworking MSMEs to upscale their businesses which can contribute economic development in the community, and is not an “ayuda” from the government.
Trade and Industry Development Specialist Rodel Bolante elaborated that the package is a form of investment by the government for entrepreneurs as partners of development in society. The MSMEs are asked to manage these packages effectively in order sustain the growth of their businesses.
Marites Gomez, a beneficiary from Danglas, expressed her gratitude to DTI and its partner agencies for the packages they received and the opportunities provided them to improve their livelihood.
