Father & son killed, Wife & another son hurt by in-law in Ilocos Sur

Cabugao, Ilocos Sur(June 4, 2021) – Two died from knife and hack wounds while two others were injured in a stabbing and hacking incident Thursday night in Barangay Catucdaan, Cabugao, Ilocos Sur.
Demetrio Baclic Sevilleja, 44 and his son Michael Sevilleja, 23, died while the former’s wife Didi Sevilla and another son Melvin, 24, were hurt. The suspect, Cabugao police said, is the older Sevilleja’s son-in-law Michael Gaspar.
All are residents of Barangay Catucdaan, Cabugao. Policemen who received a call at around Thursday 10:30 PM informing them of a stabbing incident found the lifeless body of the older Sevilleja along the riverbank.
It was also found out that the suspect went inside the house and began stabbing and hacking those inside it. The suspect first stabbed and hacked his father-in-law many times who went to the comfort room outside the house.
Demetrio’s wife suffered two stab wounds on her right hand, his son Melvin sustained a stab wound on his torso. The other son, Michael suffered multiple stab wounds on various parts of his body.
He later died at Suero General Hospital while being treated. The knife and the bolo used by the suspect were recovered from the crime scene. The suspect reportedly suspecting that the family members of his wife, who is working abroad, is destroying his reputation before his wife. The suspect fled and is now being hunted by the Cabugao police.
