FIRST AID, RESCUE TRAINING FOR POCKET MINERS SET

Committed to ensure the health and safety of small-scale miners, the Benguet Federation of Small-Scale Miners, Inc. (BFSSMI) will conduct basic first aid and rescue training starting Feb 2. Cebuana Lhuillier, demonstrating its corporate social responsibility (CSR) is sponsoring the two-day event
which will be held at Kiw-is resident, Camp 4, Kennon Road, Tuba. An initial 30 participants from four small-scale mining groups based in Tuba are expected to participate in the first of a series basic first aid and rescue training.

These ssm groups include Goldstream Pocket Miners Cooperative Inc.headed by David Tomilas; Sugalan Clan Small-Scale Mining Association Inc. with its president Angelita Sugalan; Kilbasen Mariano Small Scale Mining Asso.,led by its president Alfred Kiw-is; and Golden Hills Small Scale
Mining Asso., with Byron Dapnisan as its president. Preparations for the activity are on high gear,
Angelita (Sugalan) said, designated coordinator for BFSSMI for the activity.
