FOLYANG, PACIO FLY FOR US TO START TRAINING AFTER LAKAY EXODUS

Former ONE champions Eduard Landslide Folayang and Joshua Pacio left Monday for the United States where they will visit and train several mixed atrial arts gyms there as they move on after breaking away from Team Lakay. Barely a month after their exodus with the team that they helped create, the former lightweight and strawweight kings are reportedly headed to the Jackson Wink MMA, owned by champion makers Greg Jackson and Mike Winkeljohn in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Folayang trained with Jackson and Winkeljohn in 2018 before he made his return as ONE lightweight world champion. From there, the former Team Lakay fighters will then link up with Nick Urso at Jackson Wink’s branch in Acoma, also in New Mexico. The duo then will make a stop in California, where they are set to train at Kings MMA in Huntington Beach. Pacio is also expected to make a stop at Urijah Faber’s Team Alpha Male in Sacramento and at the RVCA Sport Training Center in Costa Mesa.

The two fighters, as per report, said that they could not contain their excitement to begina new chapter in their careers. Folayang, the report added, made it clear that joining a team in the U.S. is not part of their mission. The two led the exodus of former Team Lakay champions like Honorio
Banario, the inaugural ONE featherweight king, and Kevin Belingon, the one-time top bantamweight.
