Hauling or shredding

The municipality of La Trinidad tends to help its people to make something usable out of their solid wastes. Barangays Alapang, Ambiong, Tawang and Poblacion have their own shredder/pulveriser now which lets them make bricks and hollow blocks from plastic and crushed bottle that can be used to put up a house barricade, waiting shed, comfort room, day care school and others.

Councilor Nestor “Bobot” Fongwan said, “During the term of my father, La Trinidad used to have a shredder for residuals, like vegetable, for composting in which it is still in used. And now it is good that we have this shredder for solid waste as well.” Meanwhile, Municipal Budget Officer Imelda Grupo said, “The municipality subsidises 700T per barangay for their request on shredder. This is a good advocacy that the other barangay of LTB may follow.” I hope so and who knows, this can be the solution for others’ problem on garbage.

Mayor Romeo K. Salda hopes this will not only solve the problem on solid waste but to also help each barangay of LTB in income generation, because other cities and municipalities with this kind of technology sell their bricks and hollow blocks as Income Generating Products.

Barangay Bahong also showed interest in having this kind of technology for next year’s budget.

This November, the municipal government will announce the Most Clean Barangay for the whole of La Trinidad and having this technology gives the upper hand to some of the barangays.

The solid waste shredder/pulveriser can be purchased in Bulacan. The plastic and bottle shredder is cheaper at P1M. The all purpose shredder is more expensive. Rather than hauling, why not try shredding our solid wastes? At the ESL of La Trinidad at Barangay Alno Cell 3, garbage will be shredded any time before the year ends to compress the mountainous solid waste.

There’s no harm in hoping that something good will happen in every action that you do as long as it is not only for you but for the betterment of the public. Moreover, in the Bible (KJV) Psalms 71:14 said “But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more.” A little guidance from up above can be helpful too, know that you can always do your best and God will do the rest.
