Over 600 residents in Bokod, Benguet, benefited from various free services provided during the 4th leg of the HEALTHIER Benguet Caravan led by Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas and other
officials from the Provincial Government of Benguet on December 5, 2023. This initiative, in
partnership with the Municipal Government of Bokod led by Mayor Thomas Wales, Jr., offered medical services such as internal medicine consultations, surgeries, obstetrics, otorhinolaryngology, and physical therapy.

The services also included minor surgeries, dental consultations, cleaning, and extractions, along with laboratory services and diagnostics like ultrasound and ECG. Other services offered comprised eye check-up, paralegal services, artificial insemination for swine, antirabies vaccinations, deworming, seed distribution, patent releases, and RPT collection. The residents accessed not
just a single service but multiple services offered during the activity.

Governor Diclas expressed gratitude to the PLGU offices, Benguet General Hospital and the district hospitals, LGU partners, including the Department of Health (DOH), Baguio General Hospital and
Medical Center, Benguet Optometrist Association, RMDU dentists, PNP, and all volunteer physicians and health workers, contributing to the success of the activity.

He also assured the continuity of the caravan for the next years to come in a bid to bring government services closer to communities. The first three legs of the caravan were conducted in Kibungan, Kabayan, and Kapangan, respectively. The Provincial Government is set to extend similar initiatives to the rest of the municipalities in Benguet next year.
