Illusion of Reality

All eyes are on Malacanang these days with not a few keenly scrutinizing all public appearances by the President, all official statements coming out of the mouths of his allies and declarations made by his spokespersons whether the supposed official version made by Atty. Salvador Panelo or those narrated by newly minted Senator Bong Go in relation to how President Rodrigo Duterte is faring at the moment.

Senator Go who is a close friend and ally of the President made sure that after only two or three days after that motorcycle incident where the latter allegedly fell of his bike a new social media post suddenly showed the Digong along with the Go riding motorcycles again.

If this is just a blatant attempt at disguising the real health and physical state of the President then the Palace and the allies of the President have miserably failed.

If the spin doctors of the administration would want a better way of defending the President against allegations and fear that he is no longer 100% capable or fit to run the country then all they have to do is present material proof of whatever that despite all of his reported ailments he is still capable of serving the people in his capacity as the head honcho of the nation.

Take the case of the motorcycle accident that he allegedly figured in. If the defenders of the President would want to put the matter to rest then all they have to do is take photos of all the alleged bruises and abrasions that Digong suffered during the said incident. That way there will be no suspicion whatsoever that the motorcycle accident is simply a way of covering up the other more serious illness Digong has been afflicted with and which has affected his ability to fully function in attending the various and many social functions and work he has to do.

This is the ultimate disclaimer that can be made to effectively and conclusively deny any and all allegations that the President is actually suffering from a very serious malady which is debilitating and affects his ability to function effectively.

It is important for Malacanang and the administration of the President to show to the public that Digong, despite all of the physical ailments he admits to be suffering from, is quite capable of managing all of the problems of the country and is able to issue reasonable decisions to overcome all challenges affecting the nation.

If Malacanang will insist in putting out illusions instead of the reality that surrounds the well -being of the President then incrementally but surely his popularity will steadily lose ground and people will start question whether he can still lead the country effectively.

There is no easy way to go about it but even simple show and tell demonstrations, such as showing the abrasions and cuts suffered by the president when he fell from his motorbike, will go a long way in placating the fear of the people that the President is not as healthy as they make him appear to be.
