MALASIQUI, Pangasinan
The Ilocos Police Regional Office (PRO-1) is set to deploy 3,461 police personnel for the upcoming All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day. In a statement on Monday, PRO-1 information office chief Lt. Col. Benigno Sumawang said the police personnel will be deployed across strategic locations to maintain peace, security, and order during the two-day holiday. Of the total, 2,039 of the police personnel will be stationed at 393 cemeteries, memorial parks, and columbaria throughout the region; while 259 officers will be assigned to monitor popular recreational spots, commercial zones, and national parks highways and main roads.
PRO1 has tapped 567 augmented units and partnered with 1,711 advocacy groups to further support its safety efforts.
These groups, alongside community partners, will play a crucial role in crowd control, traffic management, and
providing immediate assistance to those in need, he said. “PRO-1 assures the public that the police force is well-prepared for Undas 2024, prioritizing both safety and convenience for all. Police assistance desks have been set up in cemeteries, terminals, and other high-traffic areas where people can easily seek help. PRO1 encourages the public to
remain vigilant and cooperative, reporting any suspicious activity to nearby officers or assistance desks,” he added.
