Join the United Nations Costume Contest at SM City Baguio

SM City Baguio will be hosting a costume event for United Nations Day this October 24, at 2pm in the mall atrium. This activity is to celebrate the friendship that the nations have built and to show appreciation for the diverse culture each country has.

The UN 2019 Costume Contest is also where mall goers can view the colorful displays of flags from various countries while enjoying songs and dances around the world. The contest is open to students aged 3-13 years old from public or private schools and teachers of any age. All participants must wear the full national costume, a sash with the nation written on it, and a flag of the country that is being represented.

The criteria for judging the Best in United Nations Costume of all categories are – Adherence to costume requirement: 50%, Creativity of costume/props: 30%, and Overall Appeal: 20%. Winners will receive the following for Best in National Costume (For Both Female and Male Category) – First Place: ± 5,000 worth of SM Gift Certificates % Second Place: ± 3,000 worth of SM GC | Third Place: ± 2,000 worth of SM GC.

Best in National Costume (Teacher Category) – First Place: ± 5,000 worth of SM GC. And the school with the most number of participating students will win ± 10,000 worth of SM Gift Certificate.

To join, head over to the mall admin located at the lower basement parking at SM City Baguio to fill out the registration forms. Participants are required to submit the list of names, age, and grade level of all students who will join in the UN Costume Contest.

The students are required to have a Certificate of Enrollment, and they must also have a signed parent’s / guardian’s waiver. Each student contestant must be accompanied by his/her guardian and present a valid ID.

For participating teachers, they will need to submit the list of names of the contestants joining from preschool and elementary school, along with their Certificate of Employment. The last day of registration is on October 24.
