Kabayan farmers thankful for 1.14 Km. road improvement

“Dakkel maitulong na daytoy nga project para kadakami nga umili,” said Romeo Waclin, a farmer in Lusod, Kabayan referring to the recently completed improvement project along Proper Lusod to Awing Access Road.
Lusod, one of the remotest barangays in the province, is among the places recently visited by Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas to listen firsthand to the concerns of the constituents in far-flung areas and assess their needs and priorities.
Governor Diclas allocated a total of P6.5 million for the road development along Proper Lusod to Awing Access Road. The first phase worth 1.5 million was completed last February while the second phase with a P5 million project cost was finished last May 17.
“Nabayag nga daytoy ti ururayen ti umili ditoy tapnu paspas kuma ti biyahe ti nateng,” said Sandy Wais, Barangay Chairman of Lusod mentioning delays in transporting vegetable produce to the nearest market, the risk of deterioration of quality of products during transport, and the risk that farmers’ vehicles would incur damages due to the used-to-be bumpy and risky road.
