La Trinidad LGU rolls out vaccination for barangay, LGU frontliners

LA TRINIDAD ,Benguet,March 19)PIA) – The La Trinidad local government rolled out the vaccination program for frontline workers in the municipality on Thursday (March 18).
Medical Officers Dr. Genevieve Degay, Dr. Rex Guinaran, and Dr. Arlyn Namoro of the Municipal Health Services Office were the first to be inoculated at the vaccination site at the Benguet State University(BSU).
They were followed by the Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams(BHERTS) led by Bahong Punong Barangay Belmer Elis, Alno PB Jonnie Puroc, Barangay Bineng Sangguniang Kabataan
Chairman Lorraine Ticol, and Barangay Lubas health worker Estella Lucas, who is a senior citizen.
Mayor Romeo Salda, Vice Mayor Roderick Awingan, and municipal councilors Arthur Shontogan, Ted Walang, and Sangguniang Kabataan Chairman Apolinario Bagano Jr, with BSU President Dr. Felipe Comila, and MSHO Dr. Antonette Agpas led the LGU vaccination rollout.
Agpas explained that they are rolling out the vaccination program for the frontline workers in the municipality down to the barangays since they are also among those at risk particularly in the continued fight against the COVID-19.
She reported that on the first day of inoculation, at least 168 frontline workers were vaccinated with the AstraZeneca vaccine given by the Department of Health – Cordillera thru the Benguet Provincial Health Office. The MHSO received initial 200 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine. La Trinidad has listed 427 frontline workers or those among the priority eligible population to be vaccinated composed mostly of BHERTs and DOH-employed personnel deployed at the municipality; contact tracers employed by the LGU and the DILG, and the rural health unit personnel of the municipality.
