La Trinidad Municipal Hall, sitios on lockdown due to new COVID cases

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet, June 18(PIA) — Mayor Romeo Salda has placed the municipal hall under total lockdown effective June 18 until June 24, 2020 thru Executive Order 045-2020 to allow for contact tracing and disinfection activities after four frontliners tested positive for the novel corona virus 2019 on Wednesday (June 17).

The newest in the spike of COVID-19 cases in the municipality the past days include three police officers assigned at the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station, a health worker assigned at the municipal hall and a student.

” Due to the work and extent of the provision of service of the individuals concerned, the Municipal Inter Agency Task Force recommended immediate lockdown of the Municipal hall for contact tracing to determine the extent of infection and conduct of disinfection activities,” the Mayor said.

Salda said all municipal officials and employees are directed not to physically report to work but to perform their respective functions on work-from-home arrangement as they observe home
quarantine for seven days.

Those identified to be in direct contact with the patients are required to undergo a 14-day home quarantine and observe all preventive measures. All municipal officials and employees will undergo swab testing prioritizing direct contacts of the patients.

Salda also called on other officials and clients who might have transacted business at the Municipal Hall from June 9 until June 17 to undergo self-quarantine and contact their respective barangay officials.

Any person exhibiting flu-like symptoms is asked to immediately contact the Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams (BHERT) or the Municipal COVID-19 Hotline at 620 5907 or 0998 389 6028.

Meanwhile, several areas in the municipality are also placed under lockdown effective June 18, 2020 until further notice. These are the barangay hall and clinic of Barangay Pico and an area of Sitio Km. 5; Purok 9, Zone 3, KM. 6 Valley Bread outlet to Botengan residence, Sitio IC in Barangay Betag; Barangay Hall of Wangal and an area of Sitio Cawa, Wangal, and area of Sitio Cabanao in Barangay Balili.
