A fisherman from the fisherman’s village in Barangay Poro in San Fernando City, La Union went missing since Tuesday and had not returned to his family, the La Union provincial government information office reported
Thursday morning. Albert Beato, said to be between 30-40 years old, headed to Bolinao, Pangasinan at around 8AM Tuesday aboard his white and green painted motorized banca marked Junior and Cheryl numbered SFC15- 1157-08, and never came back since then. This as the provincial government also reported of knee-level flooding in barangay
Cabaruan, Sto. Tomas town as sea levels rose and a storm surge reportedly occurred as of 11AM Thursday.
While an ankle to below knee-deep flooding also occurred in nearby barangay Balaoac and barangay Narvacan, both in Sto. Tomas due to high tide and storm surge. At least 240 families (738 individuals) are now safe at various evacuation centers in the province: 47 families (150 individuals) in Luna town; 186 families (556 individuals) from 3
barangays in Bangar; 6 families (18 individuals) from one barangay in San Fernando City; one family (4 individuals) from one barangay in Rosario town). At least 32 barangays in San Fernando City, Bacnotan and Aringay towns experienced power interruptions.
