La Union pupil takes home 4 medals from Math Olympiad in China

A Grade 4 Math whiz from La Union who is among the Philippines’ delegates to the 2017 China Primary Mathematics Olympiad (CPMO) brought home 4 medals after competing with other kids from countries like Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia last July 26 to 31, 2017.
Andrea Zyrene Palisoc, from the BHC Educational Institution Inc. in Sevilla Center, San Fernando City, La Union, and residing in Pagdalagan Sur, Bauang, La Union, snatched a gold in Group Relay Race, a silver in Individual Calculation, and a bronze each in Individual Comprehensive-Problem Solving and Group Over-all.
The Philippine delegates with 71 kids amassed a total of 146 medals: 10 gold, 22 silver, and 41 bronze medals in the Calculation Skills category and 12 gold, 19 silver, and 42 bronze medals in Problem Solving.
Palisoc, who is now in Grade 5, also won two bronze medals and 4th place in the same Math Olympiad on July 26 to 31, 2016. When she was in Grade 2, she bagged a bronze in the 2015 World Mathematics Invitational also in China.
