Health, education and agricultural remained the top priority programs of this town which recently elevated to fourth class municipality marked by increased revenues and population. In an interview, Mayor Alfredo Dacumos, Jr stressed that his administration is focused in sustaining its campaign promise, delivering government services closer to the people. The municipal government will be operating on a P135.721 million annual budget for this year as compared with P113.441 million in 2024.
It will combine millions worth of projects sourced from national wealth tax, Office of the President (OP), various
national departments to include interior and local government, highways and agriculture, among others. Also budget
allocation initiative from Representative Eric Yap and the Province of Benguet. Aimed at reducing expenses in electricity , Dacumos administration embarked a massive energy renewable program, utilizing solar worth P7 million for the installation of 80 street light stations ,spread in the eight barangays (10 per barangay), and the municipal area.
Millions worth is also allocated for the development of a two-hectare public land in Barangay Lower Poblacion to be utilized as expansion for public cemetery. Almost P200 million was also allocated for flood control control and farm-to-market in 45 areas especially in Barangays Bayabas and Camog. Another P19 million was budgeted for the improvement of access road leading municipal grounds (P10M) and rehabilitation of town’s public market (P9M).
To boost local tourism, a P1.1 million worth of tourism center will be established near the municipal grounds.
For the youth, its scholarship program , one each per barangay will also continue. Each beneficiary will receive P6K monthly stipend. Years, a number have graduated in the field of education, education and criminology. And P1 million to hasten the delivery of socio and livelihood programs especially for less privileged . To address calamity challenges, the national disaster risk reduction office has provided a generator for each barangay. The equipment will serve as fire suppressor. The local chief executive also said that medical assistance to seniors and the general welfare of locals will also be hastened.
