NATIONAL ARBOR DAY UNITES PGLU LINE AGENCIES, LGUs; PLANT 250 SEEDLINGS

SAN FERNANDO, La Union

As the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) implements more projects toward protecting the environment, its Provincial Government – Environment and Natural Resources Office spearheaded the conduct of tree planting activity on June 25, 2024, at the Naguilian Forest Reserve in Casilagan, Naguilian, La Union. In collaboration with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office and
Naguilian Municipal and Casilagan Barangay Officials, the event brought together 75 participants from diverse line
agencies.

These include the Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Information Agency, Naguilian Water District, Rosario District Hospital, Naguilian District Hospital, Provincial Information Office, Office of the Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator, Office of the Provincial Assessor, Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, and the Provincial Legal Office. A total of 250 native seedlings, namely 75 Arangin, 75 Dao, 25 Katmon, 25 Sagat, and 50 Banaba, were
planted during the event. Through the said activity, the PGLU continues to promote its #KalikasanNaman campaign,
biodiversity conservation and climate change mitigation through proactive support from KaPROBINSYAnihan.

With the La Union PROBINSYAnihan of LGUs, organizations, and other individuals, the PGLU is committed toward further improving its environmental protection practices.
