P11.4M worth of marijuana plants destroyed in Benguet

CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – A total of P11.4 million worth of marijuana plants were destroyed and burned from eight plantation sites discovered by joint operatives of the Benguet Provincial Police Office and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) at the mountainous area in Kibungan, Benguet.
Police Colonel Elmer Ragay, provincial director, said Benguet Provincial Mobile Force Company lead by PLt. Joyce Gayaden, discovered eight marijuana plantation site at Sitio Batangan,Barangay Tacadang,Kibungan, Benguet on Thursday,October 15 and simultaneously eradicated the illegal plants.
On site 1, a total of 600 pcs of fully grown marijuana plants  (FGMJP) worth   P120,000.00 and 600 pieces of marijuana seedlings planted on a lot worth P24,000.00;
A total of 780 pcs of FGMJP worth P156,000 uprooted in site 2, while 12,000 pcs of FGMJP worth P2,400,000.00 destroyed in site 3.
At site 4, a total of 3,000 pcs of MJ seedlings planted amounting P120,000.00; Site 5, 18,000 pcs of FGMJP worth P3,600,000.00; 28,000 pcs of MJ Seedlings planted on a lot amounting to P1,120,000.00 at site 6; 36,000 pcs of MJ Seedlings planted on a lot worth P1,440,000.00 at site 7 and 20 Kgs of newly harvested MJ Stalks with an estimated standard drug price amounting to P2, 500,000.00.
Ragay said, a total of 13,380 pcs of FGMJP, 67,600 MJ Seedling and 20Kgs MJ Stalk amounting to P11,480,000.00 were destroyed and burned onsite while the 20kgs of MJ stalks will be brought to Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet for the ceremonial burning. No person was arrested during said operation.
