The province is set to stage the second edition of its own film festival starting this month as it announced that submission of entries has
started. Thr PangaSINE Film Festival is ready to accept entries from Filipino filmmakers for both narrative and documentary, organizers
announced recently. With the theme, “ the film festival this year is open to all Filipino filmmakers. Interested film makers can now submit
their entries. Entries must not exceed 15 minutes and dialogues could be in any language, however it must have English subtitles if
dialogue is not in English.
Films entered in the film fest, which has the theme. “Our Hopes and Dreams Across the Regions,” should be original and not in violation of any copyright. Once the entries are gathered, organizers will evaluate and trim the entries to 10 films and the selected filmmakers will be required to provide a high resolution copy of their film, trailer, a poster, and other pertinent requirements. The 10 film makers of the
short listed films will be notified on March 28 through email. A brainchild of First Lady Ma’am Tuazon Guico, the PangaSINE was officially launched on April 6, 2024.
The film fest is also a culture and arts project aimed to transform the province into a film hub . It will also conduct also filmmaking workshops to help enrich local talents. Last year, more than 100 film makers from the various towns of the province. joined the three-day workshop. It also staged the ‘Sine by the Sea’, an exhibition of films by Pangasinense filmmakers at the Capitol Beachfront, which culminated the event.
