SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union
The La Union Provincial Jail (LUPJ) was awarded a Certificate of Commendation from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region I for its successful implementation of the Drug Clearing Program in Controlled Facilities in compliance with Dangerous Drugs Board Resolution No. 2, series of 2020. Provincial Warden Ret. Col. Virgilio C. Pascua, Jr., received the commendation during the 2024 Peace and Order Council and Anti-Drug Abuse Council Performance Awarding Ceremony held on November 18, 2024, at the La Union Convention Center, City of San Fernando, La Union.
The recognition follows the declaration of the LUPJ as a Drug-Cleared Facility on September 27, 2024, by the
Oversight Committee for Drug Clearing of Controlled Facilities for Persons Deprived of Liberty. LUPJ’s consistent efforts toward ensuring a drug-free environment within its jurisdiction affirms its commitment to the province’s goal of a safe and orderly La Union. The Provincial Government of La Union, led by Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David, extends its gratitude and congratulations to LUPJ for such a milestone.
