PGLU: DPWH OKS GOV. RAFY’S REQUEST FOR SOLAR LIGHT INSTALLATION ALONG NATIONAL HIGHWAY

In order to attain a significant development towards prioritizing the safety and welfare of motorists and pedestrians, Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David had a meeting with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region 1 to discuss the plans on the installation of solar
lights along Manila North Road across the province, on June 19, 2023, at her office in the Provincial Capitol. The said meeting emerged from Gov. Rafy’s initiative to request assistance from the National Government to support her stride in ensuring the safety and convenience of both residents and visitors as such will provide a well-lit road especially during night time travel.

DPWH Region 1 presented the comprehensive plan for the installation of solar lights along the stretch of Rosario to Sudipen national roads. Gov. Rafy expressed full support for the project highlighting its positive impact to the province. She further said that by enhancing road safety measures through installation of environment-friendly solar lights, the province aims to attract more tourists, stimulate local businesses, and foster economic growth.
