Posibleng pagtaas ng sweldo sa CAR inaabangan

LUNGSOD NG BAGUIO – Inumpisahang magsagawa ng mga konsultasyon ang Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) upang tingnan ang pangangailan sa posibleng pagtaas ng suweldo sa Cordillera Administrative Region.

“It’s either there are petitions for wage increase from either the worker sector…or the board will moto propio (on its own) call for a public hearing to determine whether there is already a need for a wage increase,” ani Department of Labor and Employment-Cordillera Administrative Region (DOLE-CAR) assistant regional director Jesus Elpidio Atal Jr., sa isang panayam noong Huwebes.

Sinabi niya na ang mga wage order ay may anniversary date, na isang taon matapos ang pagkakaroon ng bisa ng kautusan.

“We have to review yung ating wages whether it is still responsive whether napapanahon pa siya at effective pa ba yung tamang pasahod sa panahon,” pahayag ng director.

Ang RTWP ay nagtakda ng huling konsultasyon para sa Baguio at Banguet sa Setyembre 17, 2019 sa Orchard Hotel sa Baguio mula 8:30 ng umaga hanggang 12 ng tanghali. “This is an opportunity for both the labor and management sectors and their representatives to be informed of the current socio-economic indicators affecting labor and employment at the regional and provincial levels. This will also serve as the appropriate forum to discuss wage-related issues and concerns,” ani Cordillera RTWPB chairperson at DOLE director Exequiel Ronie Guzman.

Ang mga konsultasyon sa Abra (Sept. 5), Apayao at Kalinga (Sept. 11), Ifugao, at Mountain Province (Sept. 12) ay natapos na.

Naglabas ng huling wage order ang RTWPB para sa mga manggagawa sa formal industry noong Hulyo 2018 kung saan naging epektibo ito noong Agosto 20, 2018.

Ang kautusan ay nagtaas ng minimum wage ng PhP10 para sa lahat ng industriya na may trabahador na 11 o higit pa.

Sa Baguio at La Trinidad ay PhP320 mula PhP310 at PhP315 mula PhP305 naman sa Tabuk City, Bangued, Bontoc, Lagawe, Banaue, Bauko, Sagada, Buguias, Itogon, Mankayan, Tuba at Tublay. Ang huling wage order para sa domestic workers (kasambahay) ay inilabas noong Abril na naging epektibo noong Mayo 1, 2019.

Ang kautusan ay nagtaas sa suweldo ng mga domestic worker sa mga lungsod at first class na bayan sa rehiyon ng PhP1,000, na nagtaas sa kanilang sahod sa PhP4,000.

Ang mga sahod sa iba pang munisipalidad ay tumaas ng PhP500, kaya sumasahod na ang mga manggagawa ng PhP3,000.
