Rider Dies After Smashing Into SUV In Kalinga Capital

BAGUIO CITY (May 19, 2021) – A motorcycle rider died at the hospital moments after his motorcycle smashed into a Mitsubishi Pajero SUV along Tabuk-Isabela National Road in Barangay Agbannawag, Tabuk City, Kalinga Tuesday afternoon.
The victim, age 20, was not named. He also had a 16-year old back rider.
Tabuk City police said the duo were heading to Barangay Lacnog, also in the city, when the accident occurred.
Investigation bared that the victim tried to overtake another rider but he lost control, went to the opposite lane and smashed into the SUV travelling opposite it.
The driver of the SUV tried to avoid the motorcycle but the right front tire of the vehicle was still hit by the motorcycle.
The strong impact sent the rider and back rider on the pavement.
Police said the rider did not reach the hospital alive while the back rider is still undergoing treatment.
