RIDER RAMS INTO STREET LIGHT IN ILOCOS SUR

A man succumbed to severe injuries after ramming into a street light post Friday evening along the national highway in Barangay Dan-ar, Santiago, Ilocos Sur.

Leumark Abuniawan from Barangay Villa Quirino, San Esteban town on board his motorcycle was traversing the highway north bound when he lost control, went to the opposite lane and eventually rammed into the post of a street light.

He was rushed to the Candon General Hospital in Candon City, but was declared dead-on-arrival by the attending physician because of severe head injuries. Police investigators found out that Abuniawan, who was drunk, was driving very fast and was not wearing a safety helmet.
