Benguet Congressman Eric Go Yap and Governor Melchor Diclas led the ceremonial tip off for the formal opening of the Cong. Eric Go Yap Congressional Cup at the Benguet State University gymnasium on September 16, 2023. The inaugural inter – municipality basketball tournament formally opened with 14 teams composed of close to 280 players participating.
