SENATE DELIBERATES BENECO FRANCHISE AND UPGRADING OF BAGUIO CITY’S LAND TRANSPORTATION OFFICE BILLS

Last October 23. 2024 a day after recently arriving from his official mission in Laos, Baguio’s Working Congressman Mark Go sponsored two of his principally HB 10483, which grants BENECO a 25-year legislative franchise with the National Electrification Administration which is set to expire in 2028, HB 10780, which upgrades the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Baguio City by Converting the LTO District Office into a Class A district office and the LTO Licensing Center into a regular Class B Licensing Center.

This upgrade will add 15 plantilla positions at the District Office and 24 at the Licensing Center, enhancing LTO Baguio’s capacity to manage high transaction volumes, reduce processing times, and improves service efficiency for Baguio residents and beyond. The Senate committee has approved these bills in principle and technical working groups have been formed to further enhance the bills before they are deliberated in the Plenary of the Senate.
