SHDA SUSTAINS COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAM

Largest, leading industry developer group…

The Subdivision and Housing Developers Association (SHDA) recently launched an aggressive corporate social responsibility program dubbed as “SHDA Cares.” The formalization and institutionalization of SHDA Cares program is part of it’s thrust to give back to the community.
SHDA member-developers produce over 80 percent of homes produced annually in the country, giving SHDA unparalleled reach amongst Philippine homebuyers.

A series of events that will address SHDA Cares thrusts will cover three areas: addressing homelessness, providing skills training, and engaging in community outreach and calamity relief
efforts. To rally support in addressing homelessness, SHDA Cares will partner with non -governmental organizations (NGOs) in the country, such as Gawad Kalinga, Habitat for Humanity,
and similar organizations that have been at the forefront of providing homes in the grassroots community.

“We believe that as an organization, we have a responsibility to give back to the community,” said Herbert Tan, SHDA Cares Committee Chairman, in press statement. “We are committed to our
CSR thrusts and will continue to work towards making a positive impact in the lives of the people we serve,” he added. “We are aiming to provide skills training, job opportunities, and support for
calamity relief and community outreach as part of its initiative.

Beyond disaster relief efforts, SHDA Cares aims to encourage active involvement among its members in activities with social impact,” said SHDA Cares Vice Committee Chairman Joy de Joya, in a press statement. SHDA is the largest and leading industry association for housing and urban
development in the country with 350 members nationwide and eight regional chapters.
