Shred

There are different kinds of problems in each municipality of Benguet but it has come to the attention of many that garbage is one of the biggest budget consuming problems of the province. Under the Environment Management Bureau (EMB) budget last year, one of the 16 barangays of La Trinidad, Benguet was given P600,000 to purchase the multi-purpose shredder/pulveriser.  Alapang in La Trinidad, Benguet with the leadership of Barangay Capt. Rolando Leon monitored the alternative technology in reducing the size of plastic materials and plastic bottles that can produce usable materials such as bottle bricks and hollow blocks for pathways or any infrastructural purposes in the future. Leon said, “Dakkel nga makatulong iti environment tayo datoy tano maysa pay nga ibassit iti problema tayo ti basura.” The more non-biodegradable garbage collected the more bottle bricks and hollow blocks to be made and sold, which can provide income generation for the barangay and less expenditure to build infrastructures.

La Trinidad Mayor Romeo Salda said, “This is the Plan B for La Trinidad Solid Waste Management. The EMB actually is roaming around in each municipality of Benguet to conduct monitoring on how we handle our wastes.” It is good that LT have different kinds of solutions if ever problems occur on this matter.

However, Sangguniang Bayan said both executive and legislative should also have a private meeting in preparation for 2018 to concentrate or tackle some important matters as well, aside from the solid waste problem. But Vice Mayor Joey Marrero said, “Our ESL must not be taken for granted for La Trinidad is Benguet Province’s benchmark on how to handle the growing problem on garbage.” Now, La Trinidad is ready to order one unit of multi-purpose shredder with bottle crasher next year.

On other matters, the Composting Area must also be a good help when it comes to biodegradable wastes. But people must be educated on handling recyclable wastes with different kind of rules and regulations and the strict implementation of these. It is really important to respect and follow and be appreciative of the ordinances in our areas. In the Bible (KJV) Colossians 1: 10, “That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God.” Nobody is perfect indeed but it’s not bad to believe in something that can change our bad habits. Throughout the concerns and problems of people, it is good also if we relax sometimes and when relaxing, having a massage is a must. So why don’t you try the Healing Hand Massage with blind therapists. They are located at 2nd Floor Olympian Bldg. and open 24hours. In this way, we can help you ease your stress because as we always remind you Kadungngo-dungngo “Ti panagtinnunos nga agtrabaho mangiturong iti panagprogreso.”
