Smoke-free program in Baguio City

BAGUIO CITY- according to public order and safety division (POSD) security officer II Daryl Kim T. Longid said “. Based on ordinance 34 which allows the confiscation of cigarettes and electric cigarette instrument of smoking, it is particularly found under section 8 of the ordinance.”
Attorney IV city legal office Atty. Hannah B. Calitong said this is the ordinance that we have the participation from the community; the community was compromises with several barangay.
The SLU medical school conducted a survey towards the smoking habit, in this case we can see the improvement but we are also aware that there’s a lot of smokers, also atty. Hannah said “with the recent announcement from the president we cannot just ignore that but, that has to be studied by the task force.”
Daryl Kim said this will be discussed with the task force as well as with the mayor as chairman of the task force.
